We are so excited to be a part of such a fun night with some of our amazing neighbors, Seersucker, Frankie’s and Clover Club! Such great places! This Saturday, there are a few wonderful events taking place! In Park Slope, Brooklyn, PS 295 is holding their annual Touch-A-Truck fundraiser! It is such a fun event! There will be lots of trucks for kids to climb on and in, plus music, activities and food! Our truck will not be able to be there, but we are donating cookies for a bake sale table. So you can buy treats and support PS295! We love Touch A Truck and everyone at PS295!
In Central Park on Saturday, the Parkinson’s Unity Walk is taking place. Everyone is welcome to participate! It is a wonderful event that raises money and also spirits, as a show of support for the efforts to combat Parkinson’s disease. You can even sign up the morning of the event! To find out more and also to donate, please go to www.unitywalk.org. Our truck will be one of the food trucks selling snacks at the event. The trucks will be along the area by the band shell coming from the 72nd street entrance to the park. All are welcome to come to the trucks, whether you are participating in the walk or just passing through the park. We’ll be open from about 9-2pm. Come on by!
Our truck will be at the Tribeca Film Festival Drive In on Saturday night, April 21st! Saturday’s feature is a documentary called Knuckleball. The film is free and there will be a few trucks so you can buy fun snacks for your night at the movies in the park! There will be music, activities and special guest appearances leading up to the screening, too! The music and activities start at 6pm, and the film starts at 8:15pm. We’ll be open at 6pm and stay until the film begins!
Kim was interviewed by Theresa Loong about her family background (both Jewish and Japanese-American) and baking. You can read the article Food In Two Worlds and hear the podcast on the WNYC website and also at Feetin2worlds. Thanks to all of the customers who stopped by to say they enjoyed it! We’ll have the Apple Cake plus Apricot Squares and Macaroons all week on the truck!
We hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! This week, we’ll be a mix of our favorite spots, plus a few added special plans. We’ll keep you posted here! And feel free to call us for the daily spots and follow us on Twitter. Just this Thursday, we’ll be at the LIC Food Truck Lot for lunch time. More soon! Have a great week!
We’ve been trying out a mix of both old and new spots over the past months. We miss our old rotation that we had for years, but with changes in the city streets, it isn’t possible anymore to guarantee those locations. Kim just wrote a short piece that was posted by Midtown Lunch about the past year for the trucks in NYC. Thanks to all our customers for their support and encouragement. It means the world to us. Our schedule is less regular than before, so thank you for calling and following us on Twitter to find our daily spots! We are working toward settling into a new regular routine (plus special events!). You can always call us at 212-691-5226 or follow us on Twitter @thetreatstruck. If you want to email to find out about a particular date, we are happy to write back!
We love making fun treats for holidays! We have Easter cookies (egg shaped sugar cookies and chocolate cookies and also chocolate bunny cookies!) For Passover, we have macaroons (with and without chocolate chips), apricot squares and apple cake! In addition to coming by the truck, if you want to order a box, just give us a ring or send us an email! Pick up at the truck or have us deliver straight to your door!
You can call us for our daily schedule, always. And, please feel free to write about a specific date! This week, we plan on being in the Flat Iron on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we’ll pick one of our old spots for lunch and then head to 18th St & 7th Ave for the late afternoon. On Thursday, we’ll start in the Flat Iron for lunchtime and then go to Broadway between 86th & 87th from about 3:30-7pm. On Friday, we’ll be at the WFC Food Truck lot 11-3pm and the Flat Iron District (5th ave in 20s) for the late afternoon. Park Slope on Saturday (maybe a late afternoon spot in Manhattan…) and the UWS (Broadway in the 80s) on Sunday! Hope you can come by the truck for some treats! Have a great weekend!
